Blanchard Beehives Ltd. is a company dedicated to providing natural environment for bees and producing natural products. Our founder and owner, Jonathan Blanchard, envisioned a different approach - without the use of chemicals. We keep Layens Hives on an organic apple orchard, ensuring a sustainable and healthy habitat for our bees. With our commitment to nature, we guarantee products that are not only good for you, but also for the environment.
Our Story
Blanchard Beehives Ltd. was founded on January 8, 2023, by our owner Jonathan Blanchard. He has an extensive knowledge of different types of bees. Although he is a 'newbee' when it comes to apiaries. He aims to keep things simple and natural. Jonathan used plans from HorizontalHive.com and enlisted local woodworkers to create three Layens Horizontal Hives from untreated wood. The frames for our bees are also untreated and contain chemical-free wax foundation. Our hives are insulated with wool from a local sheep farm and painted with animal-safe barn paint. The Board members are family members who share the common vision of providing natural products to the community and the world
